The RUSH HOUR

The Rush Hour

If the pressure to succeed overwhelms you, you are definitely not alone.

Nevertheless, life will be meaningless if all that matters to you is to succeed in life.

We live in a society where there seems to be no time for ourselves anymore!

Hardly do humanity STOP, REFLECT and CONTEMPLATE on the essence of our existence and most importantly our relationship with God.

There are the needs to answer the emails, voicemails and telephones as instantaneously as possible; otherwise the person at the other end might think something is wrong.

We invest time and energy preparing to cook the food, dress up for the Mass or going to church or even parties or other social gathering. In the same way, we commit greater time and energy trying to satisfy our Boss, families and friends, at the job place, at home and even in the neighborhood.

There is a RUSH to life that suggests we are the better person if only we can accomplish more and more things in a single day. Unfortunately, it is in that RUSH of life that I do believe we lose sight of the ability and the need to be REPLECTIVE people to use the gifts that the Lord has given to us to draw closer to our true source of life.

We RUSH to buy gifts!

We RUSH to cook food!

We RUSH to get dressed for the occasions!

We even RUSH to be out of the House of God!

We RUSH to make love!

We RUSH to judgment and conclusion!

We RUSH almost everything including ourselves.

By so doing, we fundamentally forget the very essence of our calling as a human being, who are supposed to be dedicated to the almighty God by putting our complete trust, hope and faith in the creator of heaven and earth and the source of eternal life.

Do we perhaps become a MACHINE today as we answer the call of many machines; asking for answers, decisions and replies? Have our lives become so mechanical? Have we lost sight of our true self as a result of the challenges of life?

The RUSH HOUR is hurting rather than helping and that is why Jesus Christ is telling us, asking us and demanding of us among others

  1. (1)   TO STOP AND REFLECT!
  2. (2)   RECOGNIZE THAT LIFE IS A GIFT
  3. (3)   LIVE THE MOMENT IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD
  4. (4)   ALLOW GOD’S VISION TO BE MANIFESTED IN YOU.
Please take a moment to reflect on how far you have come and why it is absolutely necessary for you to live in union with God as opposed to trying to live a live that is defined by the RUSH HOUR and MECHANICAL ATTRIBUTE.

Prayer

Dear Jesus Christ,You said, “It is written, My house shall be a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves.”Please help us today to recognize that we are the temple of the Lord, our God, your heavenly Father and touch our hearts so that we can let go of our mechanical lifestyle and become united with you in our daily lives.Give us the heart of flesh that we may love again and see you in everything.Thank you as we look forward to your healing, so that we can let go of the “RUSH HOUR” mentality and learn to depend completely on you.
Amen!
