Do Not Waste Your Good Storms In Life

Storms in our lives are a way of life and most especially for the children of God; it may seem more than we can humanly bear at times.

However, not all storms in our lives are as a result of our sins, disobedience and or bad choices.

God allows some storms in our life because in part with his divine providential care for us, this encounter manifests our union with the almighty and a share in the carrying of the Cross-of our Lord Jesus Christ.

When the disciples encountered the storm in the boat, they became terrified and thought they were about to die, and suddenly noticed Jesus Christ walking on the water.

Peter asked Jesus to not only identify himself as not being a ghost, but to invite him to walk on the water too.

Request granted, and for a while Peter did walk on the water, until he too his focus off of Jesus Christ and sensed the storm. At that point he began to sink and cry out for help. He was again rescued and rebuked by our Lord Jesus Christ for his little faith.

Freedom may also be a storm in our lives too.

It is true that God gave us the freedom to live and subdue the earth, nevertheless, this freedom was not meant for us to commit sin, but to love God.

True freedom therefore is when we make the choice to love God and by so doing reject the desires of the flesh and take up that of the Holy Spirit.

Now the desire of the flesh is not just about sex alone, as many have come to believe; in reality, any desire that contradicts the freedom of God is essentially part of the desires of the flesh!

When you bear false witness against your neighbor, it is the desire of the flesh.

When you kill your neighbor, it is the desire of the flesh.

When you covet your neighbor’s property, it is the desire of the flesh

When you dishonor your parents, it is the desire of the flesh

When you commit adultery or fornication it is the desire of the flesh

When you discriminate against others, it is the desire of the flesh

When you are greedy, a glutton or drunkard, it is the desire of the flesh

When you refused to give credit to whom it is due, it is the desire of the flesh

When you pretend to be who you are not, it is the desire of the flesh.

When you refuse to share your gifts to better others, it is the desire of the flesh

When you refuse to help others, it is the desire of the flesh

When you hate others, it is the desire of the flesh and so on….

Under the above scenarios, it is absolutely challenging and humanly impossible to hold on to the claim that you are truly free!

The freedom that God has give to us are to love him above all things and by so doing love our neighbors as ourselves.

True freedom allows us to love others irrespective of their race, talent and capacity to help us in return.

True freedom sees beauty in all.

True freedom enables us to be kind, compassionate and honest with those we encounter daily in our lives.

True freedom help us to see God in others, and by so doing we are able to see ourselves in them too.

If we are truly free, then we shall not kill, but become an agent of life, we shall not steal, but restore, we shall not chase after the desires of the flesh, but see what pleases the Holy Spirit and we shall not seek protection based on guns, rather from God who can make the impossible to become possible.

The freedom that God has given to us also enables us to wisely walk along with the storms in our lives, because our focus are no longer on ourselves, but on the almighty God who is truly the sources of all that is good!

In your marriage, when you are truly free, God will give you the courage to stay in the relationship, no matter the storm you are experiencing because, you are walking under the divine providential care of the Lord.

In your relationship, true freedom become manifest when you begin to share your talents, gifts and love with your partner, rather than hiding them for selfish purposes.

At the job place, because of the freedom that God has given to you, you are willing to help your co-workers and help create a better working relationship for the betterment of the entire organization.

Today Jesus Christ is calling on all of us to “Follow me.”

In a nutshell, the freedom from God and based on your faith drives away fear and restore your confidence, and therefore position you to receive grace upon grace. And that same freedom enables you to see your circumstances as a good storm, and not a bad one, because you are not alone.

As he promised, the almighty God will never forsake nor abandon you, and even before you were conceived in your mother’s womb he knows you.

May the good Lord, bless his words in our lives. Amen

Prayer:

Dear heavenly Father, today I come before your throne of grace and beg you to give me your freedom to love and not to hate, to bring about life and not death, to share and not to be greedy and above all that I may become an instrument of your peace, so that I too will bring glory to your holy name.

And I ask this through Jesus Christ name. Amen.

Perfect Love Never Fail Nor Pass Away

(1 Corinthians 13)

If I speak in human and angelic tongues
but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal.

And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.
If I give away everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind.
It is not jealous,
[love] is not pompous,
it is not inflated,
it is not rude,
it does not seek its own interests,
it is not quick-tempered,
it does not brood over injury,
it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth.
It bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails.

If there are prophecies, they will be brought to nothing;
if tongues, they will cease;
if knowledge, it will be brought to nothing.
For we know partially and we prophesy partially,
but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away.

When I was a child, I used to talk as a child, think as a child, reason as a child; when I became a man, I put aside childish things.
At present we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face. At present I know partially; then I shall know fully, as I am fully known.
So faith, hope, love remain, these three;
but the greatest of these is love.

WHY FATHER JOHN ADEYI?

Rev. Fr. John Adeyi is a humble priest that sees goodness in every person!

Behold today after about two months in captivity, here we are, crying, wailing and mourning over his martyrdom in the cruelest fashion one could ever imagine.

Those who have perpetrated this despicable act are within us; they live, eat and drink with us! Some of us even know them and receive some kinds of benefits from them too.

It is about time we allow of conscience to be our guide and expose these miscreant.

The people of Idoma and other well meaning Nigerians must commit to pursing justice at all cost and use the martyrdom of Blessed John Adeyi as the springboard to exterminate forever this kind of culture of death, which is very foreign to our ways of life.

Dear Blessed John Adeyi, as you now rest in peace, where no pain, hurt nor captivity can ever touch you again, please intercede for our land and country and beg Jesus Christ our Lord to forgive us our sins and send the Holy Spirit to come and wash us clean and purify our thoughts, words and actions and make our land a new one again!

Intercede for us, so that love, hope and faith will reign in our hearts, instead of hate, despair and doubt.

Please help those who know these killers to come out and exposed them now, so that justice will prevail today. And may they be restless until they do the right thing!

Rest in perfect peace in the Lord, Jesus Christ whose Cross-you carry until the end.

Amen!

Servant-of- Jesus Christ

Prayer for America Today about Gun and Violence

Dear God,

I love this beautiful country, America that you have given to us.
However today, we are in the process of annihilating ourselves as a result of Gun and gun violence in our lives, which is hurting everyone so much nowadays.

Today, I come before your throne of grace and commit this great country into your loving hand, O Lord, my God!
Just as you were with the people of Israel of old, I beg you to come and dwell within every heart in this country.

Jesus Christ you told us in the scripture that:

“Those who live by the sword shall perish by the sword.”

Our leaders have failed to protect us because they lack the moral, spiritual and political will and power to effect necessary changes to the gun situation in this beloved country.

O Lord, my God forgive all those who are unable to have the courage to vote against the perpetuation of gun in our culture and touch their hearts, so that they may find the strength to do what is right.

Thank you O Lord, my God for the leaders that continue to fight the gun industry and their earthly powerful supporters. Protect them too and continue to strengthen them to never give up on this noble course.

Holy Spirit, come and dwell in our heart today, so that love, mercy and forgiveness will reside within us.
Help us not to discriminate against those who do not look like us, on the basis of religion, sexual orientation and other life styles that are different from ours.
Fill our heart with love for humanity and give our minds the capacity to be just toward all mankind.

Help us to see that the doctrine of “An eye for an eye and a tooth for tooth” will not break the cycle of violence nor even solve our security situation, instead show us your power in love O lord our God.

Thank you O Lord, my God in anticipation of your divine providence and protection in our lives and the answer to our supplications made in thanksgiving today.

Sincerely,
Your Servant-in-Christ,

Peter Odeh
